Child Sponsorship Program |
Welcome
to the Lahash Child Sponsorship Program assisting kids in
Tanzania's capital city! On our recent trip to Tanzania,
we met with the
staff at the local Mennonite Church. The team there currently
provides care for 230 children through Compassion International.
The program is run professionally and with integrity.
But we also
learned that Compassion has regulations that prohibit some children
from receiving sponsorship. These requirements constrict the assistance
to only one child per family, and only children
from established family units. The head of the church there asked
Lahash if we would be willing to join them in creating another
program -
based entirely on the existing Compassion model and framework -
that would reach these other kids.
We are now
ready to partner children with sponsors in the United States. This
sponsorship costs $9 per month. Why is this cost so low? Compassion
International, for example, charges $32 per month.
With each
$9 donation to the program, $1 is used for a secure transfer to Tanzania.
The remaining $8 is partnered with $8 from the Tanzanian Community
in Dodoma for a total of $16. This is the same amount that makes
it to the Compassion International Program. Pastor Amos wants the
Tanzanian community to step up and help with the needs as well, thus
we are splitting the costs with local church goers and local
organizations.
Please look
through the children below, and choose one of them to sponsor.
Then click on the link to download a Sponsorship Form, and send
us the form. We will then send you a packet with your child's
photo and information. Download
